About
Classic dinner party fare with updated ingredients and techniques.
One day in the summer of 2013, Catie Randazzo pulled into the lot of the late/great Dinin’ Hall to try the cuisine of a food trucker she’d heard was doing cool things: Matt Heaggans.
She introduced herself with a big smile, and proclaimed that they were going to be friends. Heaggans remembers chuckling as she walked away thinking that she was way too nice and that she’d make it a year.
Cut to five years later with a handful of popups and Columbus Knife Fight competitions behind them: Catie’s prediction came true. In the time that elapsed, the two kicked around the notion of working on a project together. Catie had been nurturing the idea of Ambrose & Eve for years. She looked at a few spaces, but an old house on South High Street caught her eye.

Chef Matt Heaggans
Matthew Heaggans is chef and co-owner at Ambrose and Eve and Preston’s: A Burger Joint. Before launching Swoop! food truck in Columbus in June of 2012, Heaggans worked in the kitchens at Washington, D.C., eateries including Inox, The Oval Room and Againn. In Columbus, he’s also cooked at The Rossi Bar and Kitchen, Flatiron Bar and Diner, and Bebe at The Hey Hey.

Chef Catie Randazzo
Catie Randazzo is chef and co-owner of Ambrose and Eve and Preston’s: A Burger Joint, and executive chef at Challah! food truck. She studied at the Columbus Culinary Institute before working in restaurants in Portland and New York City, including Nostrana and Allswell. She has appeared on the Food Network’s “Cutthroat Kitchen.”

Chef Catie Randazzo’s grandmother, father, mother and bonus mother (stepmother) instilled in her the idea of taking care of people. And that core tenet, service to others, is the rock upon which the restaurant is built.
